Kensuke's Kingdom is a beautiful book telling the story of the young boy Michael who ends up stranded on an island where Kensuke, a Japanese soldier from World War 2, lives alone. Kensuke helps the young boy to survive and eventually, be rescued.
Written by Michael Morpurgo, this novel has been very much enjoyed by the boys in Ms Smyth's class. And it has inspired them all to build their own representations of Kensuke's Kingdom. The class exhibited their projects outside their classroom. The models are a testament to the involvement of parents, extended family and a whole lot of time and patience! But the results are amazing. Best of all, the boys will get to keep these projects as reminders of a wonderful tale which they have all enjoyed and explored together. Great work, boys.... and parents! Comments are closed.
