We welcomed some very special guests to our hall today with the arrival of members of the Colmcille's minors who claimed victory in the Division One final last month. Several of our former pupils are members of the team and indeed, very many of the assembled audience are proud members of the Colmcille's club!
Team Captain Cian Flynn, along with player Tadhg Bennett are both former Donacarney boys and they addressed the audience and also answered their questions. They agreed that the final against the Summerhill team was a tough and tightly fought battle but emphasized the importance of good training and healthy eating regimes to their success. Mr Arthur, who mentors our winning GAA team stressed the importance of the club to the school, thanked them for their support towards gaelic games in our school and of the enthusiasm of our boys for gaelic games. The visit finished with a trip to Gliondar Mara before the lads headed off to another school and, no doubt, to another appreciative audience. Comments are closed.
